No-Touch Deployment

What is no-touch deployment in the context of IT procurement and IT asset management?

No-touch deployment is an automated provisioning method in which IT assets are pre-configured and ready to use as soon as employees receive them. It’s exactly the same as zero-touch deployment, where your devices show up already set up, policy-compliant, and good to go.

Some companies let automation platforms (those with no-touch deployment capabilities) do the heavy lifting while they sip coffee and pretend they’re magicians who make IT headaches disappear!

At Dots, we are moving towards full no-touch deployment through automation and integrations. Devices ordered through Dots can be pre-registered with your MDM, so when the employee powers it on, the right policies and applications are automatically applied. Combined with HRIS integration, this will allow devices to be shipped directly from a warehouse to the end user with just the approval of IT. The goal is a simple flow: an employee is hired, a device is ordered in Dots and arrives at the employee’s door ready to go. For distributed teams, this is essential. No-touch deployment reduces shipping costs, speeds up onboarding, and ensures employees start work with no unnecessary delays.
